The LOT portal software uses several open source components each of which must be installed and configured separately.
The LOT software was developed on the Debian GNU/Linux platform (i386). It is regularly ported to RedHat Linux and should be easily portable to other Linux variants as well as BSD and Solaris.
Since the initial production system is to be running RedHat Linux version 8.0, this guide will focus on that platform.
