I never thought I'd have anything good to say about the most
sanctimonious of Britain's red-masthead (read ``mass-market'' or
indeed ``down-market'') tabloids. But I have to admit that the
summary of the
Lee Bowyer and Jonathan Woodgate affair
on the front page of their 19 December 2001 edition pretty much
nailed it:
