This, and worse, does happen and it is up to the institution for which the perpetrator works, the State, if it is a state institution, and the professional societies. Perhaps if the SVP doesn't cooperate, the Paleontologocial Society, or the Geological Society of America (GSA) will see fit to do something about this. If none of these groups do anything, and the problem cannot be resolved amicably then perhaps our list can take it up again. We could indeed send a letter, as a list to both the SVP and the NMMNH. Let us resolve this and get on with what we are really about--the study of Planet Earth and its beings.
